The China State Railway Group, the national railway operator, announced on Monday that a new high-speed railway is set to open in East China's Fujian province on Tuesday, aiming to enhance social and economic development in the western part of the province.
The 92-kilometer line, designed for speeds up to 250 km/h, will connect Longyan and Wuping in Fujian. It is a pivotal segment of a larger railway network linking Fujian with Guangdong province. Situated in the mountainous region, the line traverses less-developed areas within the province.
The inauguration of this line is expected to improve the railway infrastructure in Fujian's western region, facilitating efficient travel for residents along the route. Additionally, the new railway is anticipated to stimulate tourism and contribute to the overall social and economic development of the region.
