At the top of Snake Hill (Sheshan) in Wuhan, Hubei, stands the renowned Yellow Crane Tower. However, by the banks of Luhu Lake in Guangzhou, there is also a tower known as the "Guangzhou counterpart of the Yellow Crane Tower" due to its similar appearance: Honghu Tower. Although not a historical site, Honghu Tower, built in 1987, became the tallest garden architecture in Guangzhou with its five stories and 24.5-meter height, earning it the title "First Tower of Pearl River and Baiyun Mountain". Climbing the tower floor by floor reveals different scenic views at each level, with the top floor offering a 360° panoramic view of the Guangzhou cityscape.

湖北武汉蛇山之巅有座名声赫赫的黄鹤楼，但在广州麓湖畔，也有一座因形似而近来被坊间称为“广州版黄鹤楼”的鸿鹄楼。鸿鹄楼虽非古迹，但在1987年建造之时，凭借五层24.5米的建筑高度成为了广州园林建筑之冠，因而得名“珠水云山第一楼”。逐层登塔，层层风光皆不同，顶层更是能360°尽赏羊城风姿。
