Dicaeum cruentatum, a bird on the list of terrestrial wild animals of important ecological, scientific, and social value, has joined the bird population at Haizhu Wetland. It is a small black and red species of the flowerpecker family, weighing between 6-8 grams and measuring 8-10 centimeters in length. It inhabits forest edges, orchards, and similar habitats, with a diet primarily consisting of insects and berries. Occasionally, it also enjoys flowers, pollen, and nectar, earning it the well-deserved title of a "forest gourmet."
