The Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Channel officially opened for trial operation at 3 p.m. on December 11, 2024, marking another crucial addition to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's cross-river and cross-sea transportation network. Starting from Pingsha Town in Zhuhai's Jinwan District, the channel includes two major bridges—the Gaolan Port Bridge and the Huangmaohai Bridge. It connects to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to the east, the Xintai Expressway to the west, and intersects with the Western Coastal Expressway, ending in Doushan Town, Taishan, Jiangmen. With this new route, the travel time between Zhuhai's Gaolan Port and Taishan in Jiangmen has been reduced from one hour to under 30 minutes, providing a direct sea-crossing connection.

黄茅海跨海通道于今日15时通车试运营，为粤港澳大湾区跨江跨海交通网络再添“关键一横”。黄茅海跨海通道起于珠海金湾区平沙镇，设置高栏港大桥和黄茅海大桥2座主桥，东连港珠澳大桥，西连新台高速并与西部沿海高速相交，止于江门台山市斗山镇。经由黄茅海跨海通道，从珠海高栏港到江门台山变为跨海直达，车程由1小时缩减为30分钟以内。
