During the 2025 National Two Sessions, Zurab, a Georgian international student, visited Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. at the invitation of Yangcheng Evening News' "iSeeChina" column to experience the vitality of Guangdong's manufacturing industry.
High quality and cutting-edge technology: the backbone of smart manufacturing
In China, the slogan "Good air conditioners are made by Gree" is widely recognized. Upon stepping into Gree's headquarters showroom, Zurab was immediately drawn to the array of air conditioners on display. "I've heard that Gree offers a ten-year warranty on household air conditioners, which is rare worldwide. What makes Gree's air conditioners so special? How can they guarantee such durability?" he asked.

The guide highlighted two keywords, the first being "high quality.""Take this 'Qingqiao' series air conditioner, for example. It was manufactured in 2005 and has been running for 20 years. You can still find it in use at some restaurants in Zhuhai today."

The second keyword is "cutting-edge technology." The guide introduced the three-cylinder two-stage compressor of variable volume ratio displayed at the showroom's central exhibit and explained,"This compressor is independently developed by Gree. It enables wide-temperature range operation in extreme conditions, ensuring powerful heating even in extremely low temperatures. Even when the outdoor temperature drops to -35°C, the indoor temperature can still reach 25°C."
Zurab asked curiously, "My hometown is currently around -7°C. Would this compressor work reliably there?""Absolutely," the guide affirmed. "Even when the outdoor temperature drops to -25°C, the heat pump's heating capacity remains stable. Besides extreme cold, this compressor also ensures steady cooling in hot climates, such as the Middle East."
PEDF power system contributes to a future zero-carbon China
At Gree's Photovoltaic Future House & DC Community, which is designed to promote a zero-carbon lifestyle, Zurab placed his hand on a 48V low-voltage direct current safety test boxand felt nothing. "Why don't I get an electric shock? In Georgia, the standard voltage is 220V, but here it's only 48V?" he wondered.

"This is related to 'the PEDF (Integrated Photovoltaics, Energy Storage, Direct Current and Flexible)' power system," the guide explained. "As you can see, this is an energy storage unit. Solar panels on the roof generate electricity, which first powers photovoltaic air conditioners. Any excess energy is stored and later used by DC appliances. Since 48V DC is considered safe for humans, it is completely safe for use."
Zurab asked, "The 'P' refers to photovoltaic power, 'E' to energy storage technology, and 'D' to DC distribution—but what does the 'F' mean? And what are its benefits?"
"The 'F' for 'flexibility' refers to adaptable electricity consumption," the guide explained. "For example, if Guangdong experiences consecutive rainy days with little sunlight, and the stored energy runs out, our system intelligently adjusts energy distribution. This approach enables real-time energy control, centralized management, and self-sufficiency in clean power usage. Ultimately, we aim to achieve a grand vision—'For a zero-carbon China.'"
It is reported that Gree's PEDF power system for air conditioners is the first globally and has been deployed in over 35 countries and regions. Zurab expressed that through Gree's products and philosophy, he could truly feel the company's strong sense of social responsibility. He believed that it was this very sense of responsibility that allowed the development of the manufacturing industry to genuinely benefit ordinary people.

2025年全国两会期间，应羊城晚报“iSeeChina”（中国探秘官）栏目之邀，格鲁吉亚留学生Zurab（开飞）走进珠海格力电器股份有限公司，体验广东制造业的创新活力。
高品质+核心技术 构成智造底气
在中国，“好空调，格力造”是一句家喻户晓的标语。踏进珠海格力总部展厅，开飞的目光就为各色各样的空调所吸引：“听说格力家用空调十年保修，这在全球都很少有。格力的空调有什么特别之处，为什么能给出这样的承诺？”
讲解员为他点出了两个关键词，其一是“高品质”。“像这台产于2005年的清巧系列空调，至今已经20年了。如果你在珠海的一些餐厅里吃饭，依旧能看到它的身影。”
其二是“核心技术”。讲解员以展厅中心岛陈列的三缸双级变容压缩机为例解释道：“它由格力自主创造，可以实现极端环境下宽温运行，超低温强劲制热。室外即使零下35℃，室内也能达到25℃。”
“我的家乡现在大概是零下7℃，这台压缩机在那里可以照常运作吗？”面对开飞提出的问题，讲解员给出了肯定的回答：“没有问题，室外环境温度低至零下25℃，热泵制热量也不会衰减。除了严寒，在中东等天气炎热的地区，它也能稳定制冷。”
光储直柔概念 奋力零碳中国
在应零碳生活而生的格力光伏未来屋·直流社区，开飞把手指放上了低压直流48V安全电压体验箱，毫无触电的酥麻：“为什么我不会被‘电’到？格鲁吉亚的电压是220V，这里只有48V？”
“这里涉及‘光储直柔’的概念。如你所见，这是一个储能设备。屋顶的光伏发电，会优先供给光伏空调使用，余下的绿电会存入这套储能设备，转换后供直流电器使用。直流48V对人体而言是安全的，可以放心使用。”讲解员为开飞解释个中奥秘。
“‘光’是光伏发电，‘储’是储能技术，‘直’是直流配电，那么‘柔’是什么呢？又有什么好处？”开飞提问道。
“‘柔’是柔性用电。譬如说，最近广东不时下雨，没有太阳光。如果储能电用完，我们的管理系统会对能源进行智能调度。”讲解员进一步介绍：“这种方式，实现了实时能源控制和能源集中管理，以及清洁电力自给自足。最终我们希望实现一个宏伟的目标：‘奋力零碳中国’。”
据悉，格力光储直柔空调系统为全球首创，产品已服务超35个国家和地区。开飞表示，自己从格力的产品和理念中感受到了企业的社会责任感：“我想正是这份责任感，让制造业的发展真正能够惠及普通百姓。”
