Tracing human exchanges from 600,000 years ago at Modao Mountain

What if human connections began far earlier than we ever imagined?

In this vlog, we journey to the Modao Mountain Heritage Site in Yunfu, Guangdong, where groundbreaking discoveries have reshaped the timeline of human history in southern China. Archaeologists have found stone tools here dating back 600,000 to 800,000 years, pushing the region's human activity back to the era of "Peking Man" and far beyond the "Maba Man," which we once thought was the earliest.

Alongside my foreign friend, we explore the site, reflect on the significance of these ancient tools, and uncover traces of early exchanges that may have linked East and West even in prehistoric times.

This experience was not just about history; it was about the shared journey of humanity. As we met visitors from around the world at this very site, we couldn't help but feel the powerful echo of human connection across time.
