CANTOR KRISTEN LEE from Columbia University and SOTO SEBASTIAN JAMES from New York University won the only merit award in the international group of the 2024 Global Conference for Reciting Chinese Poetry on November 17th.They recited love poems about a great poet and his long-time lover, allowing the audience to appreciate the artistic charm of Chinese poetry, which transcends mountains and seas, and bridges the past and the present. Despite different culturalbackgrounds, the melancholic sentiment expressed in the Song Dynasty verse resonated with both Chinese and international audiences.
