City Life | March 7th marked the official launch of the 2025 #Huachao Festival at #Guangzhou's #Haizhu #Wetland, set against a picturesque backdrop of blooming flowers. Known as the Flower God Festival, this traditional celebration originated in the #Han Dynasty, flourished during the Tang and Song dynasties, and remains one of #China's most cherished seasonal festivals. Ancient people regarded the second month of the lunar calendar as the "Flower Festival," during which they held ceremonies to worship the flower deity, enjoyed the blossoms, went on outings, and prayed for abundant growth of all things. This year's festival highlights include a 3.2-kilometer stretch of pink #kapok avenues along #Shiliugang River and a 10-acre #cherry blossom forest, alongside lively events such as the Twelve Flower Goddess Selection, #hanfu dances, traditional musical performances, an intangible cultural heritage market, and a cherry blossom tea pavilion. #citylife
