From March 17th to 20th, the 2025 "Maritime Guangdong Young Director Support Program" (Maritime Guangdong Program), hosted by the Yangcheng Evening News Group, made its debut at the 29th Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART). On the afternoon of March 17th, the Maritime Guangdong Program held a project promotion event, introducing the program and 19 short films supported in previous sessions to global film and television professionals.
undefinedAs the largest film and television exhibition in Asia, this year's FILMART gathered over 760 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions, forming more than 30 regional pavilions. By leveraging this prominent platform, the Maritime Guangdong Program aims to help young directors step onto the international stage and showcase the unique humanistic and natural landscapes of Lingnan to the world through their lenses.
undefinedOver the past two sessions, the Maritime Guangdong Program has successfully produced 19 short films and held over 40 screenings and cultural exchange events globally, garnering considerable acclaim both within the industry and among the general public. On the first day of the FILMART, the Maritime Guangdong Program's booth attracted directors, producers, equipment suppliers, and cinema distributors who came specifically to inquire and discuss potential collaborations. A representative from a film production company stated that her company plans to develop a feature film related to Chaoshan culture. She noted that the Maritime Guangdong Program has produced several outstanding short films based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and hopes to find a director and screenwriter suitable for their feature film project.
In fact, the past two sessions of the Maritime Guangdong Program have already cultivated a group of creators focused on Lingnan culture and stories, and successfully incubated two debut feature films. Notably, "The River That Holds My Hand" (directed by Chen Jianhang), a short film from the first edition of the Maritime Guangdong Program, has incubated the feature film "Embrace", which won the sole "Asian New Director Award" at the 2024 Hong Kong Eye Catcher Global (ECG). Short films are the first step for young directors to start their creative careers, and it is hoped that more creators and institutions will continue to pay attention to Lingnan stories, jointly promoting Lingnan culture and excellent Chinese culture to a broader stage.

3月17日至20日，由羊城晚报报业集团主办的2025“向山海走去”青年导演创作扶持计划（以下简称“山海计划”）首次亮相第29届香港国际影视展。3月17日下午，山海计划举办项目推介会，向来自全球的影视从业者介绍山海计划及19部历届扶持的短片。
作为亚洲规模最大的影视展，本届香港国际影视展汇聚来自34个国家及地区，超过760家展商，组成30多个地区展馆，规模盛大。此次亮相国际影视展，山海计划希望借助香港国际影视展这一大型平台，助力青年导演走向国际舞台；并通过青年导演的镜头，向世界展现岭南独有的人文和自然风光。
过去两届山海计划已成功拍摄19部电影短片，在全球举办超过40场展映和文化交流活动，无论在业内还是大众层面上都积累了不俗的口碑。影视展首日，山海计划的展位吸引了导演、制片人、器材商、院线发行商等人士特地前来问询，商谈合作机会。一位前来洽谈的影视创作公司人士向记者表示，其公司计划开发与潮汕文化相关的长片，她关注到山海计划产出了多部立足粤港澳大湾区的优秀短片，希望从中寻找到适合该长片项目的导演和编剧。
事实上，过去两届山海计划已经积累了一批关注岭南文化、讲述岭南故事的创作者，并成功孵化出两部长片首作。其中，由首届山海短片《The River That Holds My Hand》（陈坚杭导演）孵化的长片《拥啊拥》获得2024香港Eye Catcher Global（ECG）唯一的“亚洲之光新导演奖”。短片是青年导演开启创作生涯的第一步，期待有更多创作者和机构持续关注岭南在地故事，共同助力岭南文化和优秀中华文化走向更广阔的舞台。
